Killeen police investigate double homicide involving armed subject
KILLEEN, Texas — Killeen police are investigating a double homicide after officers found two individuals dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a residence on Karen Drive. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced 28-year-old Tanesha Sedwich deceased at 8:46 p.m. and 29-year-old Walter Sedwich at 8:48 p.m. on July 22, 2024. Driver dies after police chase ends in crash in Killeen
KILLEEN, Texas - A police chase in Killeen ended in tragedy Wednesday night when the driver crashed and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers initiated a traffic stop near E Stan Schlueter Loop and E Elms Road at approximately 9:47 p.m. on July 24, 2024, for a traffic violation involving a Chevrolet Cruze. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Carlos Joseph Christian, refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit, according to a press release from the Killeen Police Department. The chase concluded near Stagecoach Road and Bear River Trail when the vehicle left the roadway, crashing through the fences of several backyards before coming to a rest. Christian was found unconscious, and despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 10:04 p.m. The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the fatal crash, and no further information is available at this time, stated the source.
