Little Rock voters share mixed reactions after first presidential debate of 2024

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – All eyes were on the first presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump Thursday night.

Some Arkansans say they’re not sure if there was a clear winner after the fiery exchange of words.

After the debate, many in Little Rock Arkansas say they were not impressed with the debate performance.

“I woke up this morning wondering if there are any other options,” Stan Jackson said.

Rhonda Pearson said she “didn’t feel confident in either one of them.”

“It was like a twilight zone,” Pearson said.

Despite Pearson feeling uneasy about the debate, she said she will still vote for Biden.

“One of the candidates was trying to be presidential and explain what he had done, and doing for the country while the other candidate was trying to debunk all the things he had done,” Pearson said.

David Magee said Trump has his vote, believing he was the winner of the debate.

“I know he didn’t answer a couple of questions correctly, he would go back and talk about what Joe finished talking about. I figured out what he was doing and I did like what he was doing,” Magee said.

Jackson said he could barely watch when the candidates got off topic.

“Just not being on track, not staying in their lane, it was a little weird,” Jackson said.

Some voters said they are still left feeling unsure about what to do come election time. All the voters KARK 4 News spoke with say they feel like they need to hear more from the candidates after last night’s performance.
