LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Drivers around central Arkansas will face new closures in Pulaski and Saline counties next week as highway construction and repair projects continue.
Officials with the Arkansas Department of Transportation said that eastbound inside and middle lanes of Interstate 440 in Little Rock will be closed for bridge deck repairs from July 8 to July 11.
The lanes will be closed between the Interstate 440, Interstate 30 and Interstate 530 interchange and Exit 1. The I-530 ramp to I-440 will also be closed during construction.
Drivers can detour at Roosevelt Road, Exit 139, to I-30 west to I-440.
There are also single and double-lane closures for I-30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock starting Monday. The daytime closures are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and overnight closures are from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The double lane closures will be between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.
Heading south, ARDOT officials said the ongoing I-30 widening project in Saline County will cause the closures of two ramps for an eight-day stretch.
The eastbound I-30 off-ramp and on-ramp at Highway 70 will see these closures from July 8 to July 16:
July 8 – July 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly
July 12 – July 13: 6 a.m.
July 13 – July 14: 9 a.m.
July 14 – July 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly
ARDOT added that Pawnee Drive below I-30 will be closed from 6 a.m. Monday through Tuesday, July 16 at 5 p.m.
The closures will cause some backtracking for Saline County drivers. Anyone headed east on I-30 will have to drive up to Exit 114, take the underpass to westbound I-30 and then head back to Exit 111 to access Hwy 70.
Drivers on Hwy 70 looking to get onto eastbound I-30 will have to first get on the westbound lanes, then head down to Exit 106 and come across the overpass to get onto the eastbound lanes.
