Little Rock residents react to shooting of former President Donald Trump at rally

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Many people were shocked by the news of former President Donald Trump being shot during a campaign rally in Butler Pennsylvania Saturday, including those in the Natural State.

One person said their initial reaction was to wonder if the news was even true, not believing it until they saw the video going viral on social media and across news platforms.

“America doesn’t stand for murder, no matter who it is,” Beth Barrington said.

Barrington also said she hopes this can spark conversations across the United States to end violence.

Other people look at the situation and discover lessons.

“We only get one life to live, so live it happy any means necessary,” Brandon Williams said.

“I think it’s just crazy what politics will make people do,” Salone Staton said. “I just hope we can stop acting like this and come together.”

Staton hopes this can unite the parties for a while and that both can consider the greater picture and those hurting here.

Many people said that this was a frightening situation.

“It’s frightening that this is happening, and this is a conversation we should all have, about violence and mental health,” Barrington said.

It was a tragedy for all those who were sitting at the rally.

“Nobody needs to be shot sitting there doing something, that’s not cool so it’s just a bad thing that’s happened and it shouldn’t be that way,” Matt Hase said.
