LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansans interested in volunteering and helping the Red Cross in disaster response now have an opportunity to train.

American Red Cross of Greater Arkansas announced Wednesday that it is sponsoring two trainings for volunteers in July.

The first training will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 23 at the Greater Arkansas Chapter, 2610 Shackleford Road, Ste. B, Little Rock. The training will cover mass care, focusing on providing meals and support after a disaster.

The second is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 26, also at the Greater Arkansas Chapter address. This training will cover the disaster action team in a day, which will provide a local response to disasters like home fires, floods, or tornadoes. Volunteers in this role provide a 24-hour, 365-day-per-year response to those impacted by a disaster.
