LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Many people were shocked by President Joe Biden’s announcement that he is stepping down from the Democratic nomination and endorsing his Vice President, Kamala Harris.

“Well, I’m shocked to hear that he finally gave up because I kind of think that with his health and everything else going on, it was just time for him to give it up,” Yazmine Williams said.

However, some say they saw Biden drop from miles away. Many democratic officials called Trump after his first presidential debate, asking for the step-down.

“I wasn’t shocked because of the way he did the debate, yeah,” Dennis Ewalt said. “It’s a wise decision because, I mean, he’s too old.”

Some people in Little Rock take the same stance, asking for a step-down. They think his age and health are huge factors in the announcement.

“His health is really declining, and I think it’s a dangerous situation the way that he was in, it’s probably the best thing the country can have right now,” Scott Taylor said.

After Biden drops out of 2024 race, does Kamala Harris become the Democratic nominee? Not exactly

“As for his health declining, it was declining from the very very beginning, and they should’ve taken the initiative to have him step down,” Kelly Wanner said.

President Joe Biden is dropping out of the race and endorsing Kamala Harris. This does not mean that she is the new Democratic nominee.

“It sounds like he’s supporting the democratic race to me,” Ronald Shelton said. “It sounds like he’s going to be supporting Kamala Harris today.”

Delegates will determine the nomination through voting during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.

While some people are excited about the endorsement, others do not think Harris fits the job.

“I think Kamala she has some issues that is not going to help the United States right now,” Scott Taylor said.

Tamesha Ingram says that she is excited because she feels like there is more hope.

“I feel like we have a little bit more hope than him or Trump running,” Ingram said.

“The way the country is probably going to go is the Republican Party is probably going to win,” Taylor said.

He says that the party has been dominating, especially after former President Donald Trump was shot at a rally.
