    Arkansas schools, hospitals offering immunization clinics ahead of school year

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The next school year is on the horizon so parents may want to get started on getting their kids vaccinated.

    Several hospitals and some school districts are offering free back-to-school immunization clinics for the 2024-25 school year.

    Baptist Health has scheduled several free immunization clinics across central Arkansas. Hospital officials said before shots are given parents must provide each child’s shot records and proof of Medicaid coverage or other health insurance, if applicable.

    Officials with Baptist Health said the first 50 children who receive immunizations at each location will get free backpacks filled with school supplies.

    Arkansas ranks 45 out of 50 in the KIDS COUNT national children’s well-being study

    Jefferson Comprehensive Care System will be offering free immunizations on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the College Station Health Center at 4206 Frazier Pike in College Station.

    Officials say that no appointment is necessary but shot records are required for the children getting shots.

    The Little Rock School District is offering a free shot clinic to district students going from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Tuesday and ending Thursday.

    The district provided an online form to sign up for the clinic. More information can be found on LRSD.org .
