LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Libya Greene is a 9-year-old gymnast from Little Rock who dreams of winning gold for Team USA one day.

Libya, like millions of others, tuned in to watch Simone Biles and Team USA win the gold medal.

“The thing about sports is you can do anything you put your mind to, you just have to believe in yourself and keep going,” she said.

Her mother, Brittany Greene, said Libya “practices day and night.”

“I literally have told her at times, ‘Girl go get in the bed,’” Brittany said.

“The only time I’m probably not practicing is when I’m super sleepy,” Libya said.

Libya doesn’t have to go too far to work on her skills because her parents invested in her dream as well by creating her own gymnastics room.

“Her goal is my goal,” Brittany said.

Even after a four-hour practice, Libya came home to do more skill work in her gymnastics room, flip off the couch onto the living room floor and do pull-ups in the door frame.

“You just got to keep practicing,” the young gymnast said.

Brittany said Libya has been competing for three years and has won more than 100 medals.

Libya also won the Level 3 State Floor Championship in 2023 during the USA Gymnastics Arkansas competition.

Brittany said she believes Libya “can get there.”

“Everything in me is telling me this is going to happen,” Brittany said.

“It makes me think I can do anything I put my mind to,” Libya said when asked about the support from her family.

Libya’s family is asking for donations to help with Libya’s competition fees. The family said those wishing to donate can send donations to $divinitt via Cash App.
