LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Entergy customers in central Arkansas are starting the month with a little extra money headed their way.

Business customers will also see the credits on their August bills. The company said small general service clients will get an approximately $221 credit, will large general service customers will get back approximately $12,158.

The credit is coming from a lawsuit settlement between the Arkansas Public Service Commission and System Energy Resources Inc., which operates the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

The announcement noted that the credits will be seen on the same bill showing July energy usage, which Entergy says is usually one of the highest months for power usage.

To be eligible for the credit, customers must have had service with Entergy since at least December 2023. If the credit is more than the amount for the August bill, the remaining credit will be applied to future billing.

Entergy Arkansas VP of customer service Ventrell Thompson noted the timing of the credit could help customers looking at expenses for the upcoming school year.

“We know that higher costs for groceries and other everyday living expenses can be tough for some of our customers, especially during the summer months,” Thompson said. “We are pleased that the timing of these bill credits will allow our customers to spend their money on other needs, such as back-to-school shopping.”
