HillTAP FESTIVAL, SATURDAY JULY 27TH: The 42 North HillTAP Festival is a day of outdoor adventures, live music, great food, and of course, fantastic beer. The 4th annual will take place atop Spruce Lake and will allow guests to experience the natural beauty of the lake combined with all that the festival has to offer, including paddleboarding, mountain biking, axe throwing, food trucks and live music. Jump on the chairlift at noon and listen to Smilo & The Ghost play from 1:00-4:00pm at the Spruce Lake Cabin Stage. Take the lift back or hike down for a live performance by Miller & The Other Sinners at the Tannenbaum Stage beginning at 4:00pm, followed by Workingmans’ Dead at 6:00pm. Tickets: $50 per person the day of; children 10 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Stay the night and enjoy all that Ellicottville has to offer! Fredonia Central School District Continues to Seek Public Input on Capital Project
The Fredonia Central School District continues to ask for public input regarding its proposed $50 million capital improvement project. This follows a presentation made during last week's Board of Education meeting. District officials say an online survey and information on each of the three propositions is available until Thursday, August 1st. Anyone who is unable to fill out the survey online and does not have access to a printer is asked to call the district office at (716) 679-1581 and request a printed version. The next Board of Education workshop on the proposed project is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th from 5:00-6:00 PM and is open for the public to attend without comment. The board's regular meeting will follow at 6:00 PM and will include a presentation about the project and a time for public comment.
Jamestown Airport Awarded Grant For Fire Suppressant Testing Equipment
The Jamestown Airport has been awarded a grant to acquire fire suppressant testing equipment. Congressman Nick Langworthy the airport will receive $23,243 as part of the FY24 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This grant will fund the acquisition of Aqueous Film Forming Foam (fire suppressant) input-based testing equipment.
NY woman arrested after fleeing into stranger’s home

Officers from Jamestown Police were on patrol on July 21 when they allegedly spotted 37-year-old Sonia S. Mosley in the area of Myrtle Street and Newland Ave. knowing she had outstanding warrants.
