Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark has posted a cryptic black-and-white picture of himself on X/Twitter amid interest from various other clubs around Europe, with a transfer move away from Anfield possible this summer.

This comes with The Athletic reporting that Red Bull Salzburg has "stepped up" its pursuit of the talented 19-year-old midfielder, with former Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders now in charge of the Austrian outfit. Liverpool is now said to have rejected two bids for the ex-Newcastle United ace with the second worth around $10.5m (£8.2m/€9.6m).

That will not be enough to tempt Liverpool into a sale with the Reds looking for around 50 per cent more than that for a deal to go through. Clark is also wanted on loan by several clubs including a few in the Championship.

At the moment, Clark is recovering from an injury that kept him out of Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA. It is unclear exactly where he is up to with his recovery but sat out the final two friendlies of the summer that took place on Sunday at Anfield .

Lijnders is a huge fan of Clark and Salzburg is very keen to sign the player permanently rather than on a season-long basis. Clark made his senior debut in Liverpool's 9-0 rout of Bournemouth in August 2022 and has made 14 appearances for the first team since then, including coming on during the Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley in February.

Liverpool.com says: Clark is a really talented player and he would have played a lot more last season had he not been out injured at inconvenient moments. Moving forward, there could easily be a place for him in the team, especially when injuries inevitably start to rack up, and at the very least, there should be a sell-on clause and a buy-back included in any deal.
