Louis Saha, Cristiano Ronaldo's former teammate at Manchester United, has raised the potential of a return for the Portuguese legend to Old Trafford, but this time trading the pitch for a spot in the coaching staff or even as manager.

Ronaldo's legacy at United is etched in the annals of the club's history, having had an extraordinary first run. His comeback, though, was tarnished by less sparkle and a tumultuous exit after a headline-grabbing reveal-all interview with Piers Morgan.

Currently showing his prowess at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and nearing his 40s next year , Ronaldo keeps everyone guessing about what's next. With the 2026 World Cup in the U.S. still on the horizon, his club and international career moves are shrouded in mystery.

Notably, Ronaldo who famously seemed to 'coach' from the touchline when Portugal clinched their Euro 2016 triumph, hasn't publicly declared any interest in becoming a manager. But that hasn't stopped Saha from predicting a future role for him at Old Trafford saying to TVSporten: " Cristiano Ronaldo has the passion and dedication to return to Manchester United one day. That could be as a coach or even a manager.

"His second spell didn't end how everyone had hoped, and you can see why that frustrated him. He didn't see the same formula and didn't see the passion from young players that he had been used to seeing."

Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United was nothing short of a rollercoaster, featuring stints under three different managers and culminating in a controversial exit following his explosive interview with Morgan. His candid remarks about Erik ten Hag and the club's younger players ultimately led to his release in November 2022.

Despite the drama, Ronaldo's second chapter at Old Trafford saw him bag 27 goals in 54 appearances, adding to the 118 he netted during his initial spell which brought Premier League and Champions League glory. Now lighting up the pitch for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has already notched up an impressive 35 goals this season.

While he's set to stay with Al-Nassr for the time being, what the future holds post-season remains a topic of speculation. Ex-teammate Saha has tipped Ronaldo for a potential pivot to coaching, suggesting that a slight adjustment in his communication approach could pave the way.

Saha commented: "Now he will know that he needs to find a new way to communicate when he becomes a coach. Which maybe isn't as harsh or direct as it was when he was at the club.

"He will work out how to be successful and use all his knowledge to do that; we've seen Roy Keane go into management and have success. Cristiano will understand what he needs to do as a manager. I see no reason why he wouldn't be a success."
