Manual Ugarte could still be on the move this summer transfer window with a new twist emerging in his proposed move to Manchester United.

Manchester Evening News reports that the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder remains a top target for United as they look to bolster their midfield this summer. Despite only joining the Ligue 1 giants from Sporting Lisbon last year, it seems increasingly likely that the 23-year-old will be on the move again just a year later.

However, there's a sticking point - United and PSG can't agree on a price for the player, with a hefty $66.5 million (£51million) price tag reportedly slapped on him. But now, there's a new development that could see Ugarte make his way to Old Trafford.

The Telegraph reports that PSG have come back to United with a new proposal: a loan deal for Ugarte that would include an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Despite the difference in valuation, United's preference is to secure a permanent deal for Ugarte. And thanks to this new proposal from PSG, it's suggested that the chances of a deal being struck before the August 30 deadline have increased.

The future of United's Scott McTominay has been a hot topic this summer, with Fulham showing interest earlier in the transfer window. However, with Burnley securing Sander Berge for £25million , it seems less likely that McTominay will be heading to Craven Cottage.

Erik ten Hag's United has already welcomed four new faces this summer and is eager to make it five with another midfielder before the transfer window slams shut. Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have all made the move to Old Trafford, with just over a week left until the end of the month.
