Mohamed Salah posts for first time since wild Liverpool future rumors

Mohamed Salah has posted on social media for the first time since wild rumors regarding his Liverpool future emerged this week.

The Reds winger is yet to resolve his long-term future past the end of the current season but both him and the club have seemed relatively relaxed on the situation despite reported interest from elsewhere.

However, things took a dramatic turn this week when a respected transfer account with more than 2.5million followers claimed that Salah "plans to leave Liverpool at the end of his contract next year" and "doesn’t want to renew" as things stand.

The account had misinterpreted an article from the ECHO the previous day and it sent shimmers through the majority of the Liverpool fanbase. Thankfully, the post was quickly shut down by the ECHO and the red half of Merseyside breathed a big sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't distract from the fact that Salah could very well leave the Reds at the end of the season on a free transfer if he does not agree to new terms in the next few months. Nonetheless, Salah himself has posted to social media for the first time since the wild transfer rumors emerged.

Taking to his Instagram story, the Egyptian uploaded an image of himself working out in the gym, where his 63.2million followers were treated to a view of his ripped physique. Going topless, Salah looked as though he had just endured an intense workout.

What's also impressive is the facilities the 32-year-old has at hand inside his own home, with a number of machines in view in the background of his mirror selfie. Even after a day of training, the Liverpool winger is still doing extra work at home.

Upon Salah's return to pre-season training last month, it was noted how ripped he still looked despite just coming back from enjoying the offseason. However, he hit the ground running in preseason with a goal against Manchester United in Liverpool's second game of the United States tour.

He then went one better with another strike against Ipswich Town in Saturday's 2-0 victory in Liverpool's Premier League opener, creating top flight history as he became the first player to hit nine goals on the opening weekend of the campaign.

It took his remarkable Reds goal tally to 212 in just 350 games, not to mention he also achieved his 90th assist in Liverpool colors after setting up Diogo Jota's opener at Portman Road in Arne Slot's first competitive game in charge.

For now, it appears Salah is doing his talking on the pitch, and will look to continue his early season form with another lethal performance in front of goal against Brentford on Sunday as the Reds look to make it two wins from two to start the 2024-25 campaign.
