Darwin Nunez problems perfectly summed up in 10-second Liverpool training clip

Darwin Nunez's Liverpool problems have been perfectly summed up in a 10-second clip from training this week.

The Reds are preparing to take on Brentford on Sunday and it appears the strikers have been brushing up on their shooting skills with some drills ahead of this weekend, with Nunez involved in proceedings.

The Uruguayan will be hoping to play a part against the Bees at Anfield after failing to come off the bench against Ipswich Town last weekend, and even more so given he scored against tomorrow's opponents in their last meeting.

The 25-year-old is competing with Diogo Jota for a starting berth in attack under new manager Arne Slot , although the Portuguese did his teammate no favors after netting in Saturday's 2-0 win at Portman Road .

Despite notching a respectable 33 goals in 96 appearances for the Reds across two seasons, Nunez has often been slated for his troubles in front of goal, particularly when he fails to put away the easiest chances. In fact, a recent clip has summed him up perfectly.

Described as "the most Darwin Nuñez video ever", the footage uploaded onto X (formerly Twitter) shows the Uruguayan picking a fight with a wall mannequin before hitting the crossbar from point-blank rage during one of Liverpool's shooting drills.

The former Benfica star actually exchanged some nice passes in the build up to his miss, yet it was the end product which was all too familiar to Liverpool fans - as well as his teammates.

And while it was all taken in good spirit by Nunez and the other players, it highlights how the striker continues to struggle to put away the easiest of chances.

As aforementioned, Nunez will be doing his best to earn some minutes in Sunday's clash with Brentford after failing to come off the bench last weekend, yet finishing like that is going to do little to impress Slot ahead of tomorrow's Anfield fixture.

If Jota keeps up his form, the Uruguay international may struggle for regular minutes this season and could be resigned to mostly featuring off the bench. However, Nunez has also shown that he can be lethal in front of goal, and is more than capable of reclaiming his starting spot.

Liverpool fans will just be hoping that he's getting all his missed chances out the way in training and that he'll be fit and firing for the visit of Brentford. Perhaps under Slot, he'll finally reach his full potential at Anfield.
