There is less than one week until the summer transfer window closes and Liverpool remains intent on signing at least one new face to add to Arne Slot's squad.

But while Richard Hughes and co. continue to work on potential incomings, a host of stars could still yet leave over the next few days, joining the likes of Fabio Carvalho , Sepp van den Berg and Bobby Clark out the exit doors.

A handful of Liverpool's youngsters are expected to depart on loan at least and the latest admissions from the Under-21's squad has been telling as to who may or may not leave next week.

Barry Lewtas' squad took on Leicester City in a Premier League 2 encounter at Kirkby on Saturday but were without a number of higher-profile players for the 2-1 defeat.

Ben Doak , Stefan Bajcetic and Tyler Morton are first-team squad regulars these days but would still be expected to feature for the U21's if they are not included in the men's matchday squads.

However, all three were absent on Saturday amid speculation they could soon depart Merseyside this summer, the ECHO reports. The trio have been linked with exits this month and it's thought the Reds are open to letting Doak and Morton leave on permanent deals if suitable fees can be recouped.

The likes of James McConnell , Kaide Gordon , Owen Beck, Calum Scanlon and Marcelo Pitaluga were also absent for the U21's, according to the report, amid questions over their own futures, although none of the quintet are expected to leave on a permanent basis.

Morton could still leave on loan, however, having impressed in the last two seasons with Championship outfits Blackburn Rovers and Hull City, scoring three times in 39 league appearances for the latter.

Nonetheless, the absence of all eight players suggests at least some will be securing moves away before Friday's deadline, with the majority going out on loan. However, there is also a chance Doak and Morton, in particular, leave on a permanent basis.

Slot has overseen a major cull of Liverpool's youngsters already this summer, with Carvalho and Van den Berg the most notable departures, with the pair joining Brentford for a combined fee of almost $66million (£50m/€59m) this month alone. Promising midfielder Bobby Clark has also joined Red Bull Salzburg .

Other permanent departures include Billy Koumetio to Dundee and Harvey Blair to Portsmouth , while Calvin Ramsay and Luke Chambers (both Wigan), Rhys Williams (Morecambe), Lewis Koumas (Stoke City) and Luca Stephenson (Dundee United) have left on loan.

Twenty-two-year-old left back Beck is most likely to join the loan departure list as things stand, with reports this summer suggesting a number of clubs are lined up for the player, with the likes of Celtic, QPR and Leeds all interested in securing his signature.
