Liverpool owner John Henry appears to blank Reds fans issuing transfer demand

Liverpool's lack of buying activity in this summer's transfer window is no secret. The Reds are the only club in the Premier League yet to sign a single player, with their most likely addition, Martin Zubimendi, turning his back on a move to Anfield to remain at Real Sociedad earlier this month.

Murmurs of discontent among Liverpool's fanbase are growing, with many supporters concerned that Arne Slot's squad lacks the depth required to compete on all fronts over the course of the campaign.

Slot's side played in its first home game of the season on Sunday as it faced Brentford at Anfield, and FSG owner John Henry was in attendance for the fixture.

A Liverpool supporter who was in the stands well before kick-off on Merseyside recorded the American businessman walking towards the pitch and posed the question: "John, any signings?"

Henry did not acknowledge the fan - and it is very possible that he didn't hear him - but fans' patience is running thin with him and he was slammed on social media platform X for Liverpool's lack of activity in the window.

One supporter wrote: "Surprised he's turned up", while another said: "Taking the club straight into the ground".

Speaking to Sky Sports earlier in the day, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher theorized that the Reds are yet to make any signings this summer because they are prioritizing planning for future transfer windows .

"In the past under Jurgen Klopp , they always worked 12 months in advance," Carragher said. "They were always thinking -not about this window, it was the next window. So they (Hughes and Edwards) have come in late, they've had to bed a manager in, they've obviously got this problem in terms of the contracts that they have to fix (with Mohamed Salah , Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold ).

"But the reason I don't think that Liverpool are buying players right now is they're probably already thinking about next summer, and that might sound ridiculous, but Liverpool in the last five to 10 years haven't panicked in the transfer market and I love that about Liverpool.
