Arne Slot and Trent Alexander-Arnold have raised concerns after the pair were spotted exchanging words after the Liverpool defender was substituted during Sunday's victory over Brentford .

The Reds emerged 2-0 victors thanks to goals in each half from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah in the Anfield affair, taking the Reds back into the top four of the Premier League following two wins from two under the new manager.

However, despite another impressive performance on the pitch from Liverpool, including from Alexander-Arnold himself, one of the main talking points is how the right-back was spotted exchanging a few words with his manager after being brought off late in the second-half.

The 25-year-old had started the game as expected and played a major part in Liverpool's clean sheet success, yet he was brought off in the 72nd minute for youngster Conor Bradley .

Presumably with the game all but over after Salah had doubled Liverpool's lead just moments earlier, Slot thought it worthy of bringing the England international off to give Bradley some minutes. However, it didn't appear to go down too well with Alexander-Arnold.

The defender bore a glum face as he took place on the substitutes bench, before Slot came over and had a few words with him to clearly explain his decision.

Even after the Dutchman had returned to the touchline, the cameras remained on the Liverpool right-back and captured him rolling his eyes with his arms folded, summing up his mood perfectly.

And this will have certainly raised concerns among Liverpool fans, especially given the fact Alexander-Arnold is yet to resolve his contract situation with the club.

The defender has entered the final 12 months of his current deal at Anfield and is already attracting interest from Real Madrid, leaving Reds fans fearing the worst to say the least.

This recent exchange between Slot and Alexander-Arnold will not have helped those fears, yet it can only be hoped that the pair manage to resolve their differences - and quickly.
