Arne Slot already knows what Liverpool fans love after back-to-back Premier League wins

Arne Slot was confident that Liverpool's fans 'loved' what they saw from his side after the Reds made it back-to-back wins to start the Premier League season.

Luis Diaz netted a brilliant opening goal after a swift counter-attacking move, before Mohamed Salah scored for a second game in succession to double Liverpool's lead and effectively secure victory.

Speaking after the win, Slot said that the formula for keeping football fans happy is a fairly simple one: play well and win.

Asked about how he felt about taking charge of his first home match since becoming Liverpool manager, Slot told beIN SPORTS: "I think it's only a nice experience if you win and we did, so then it is a nice experience and I think the fans loved what they see today.

"They loved to see the work rate of the players, they loved to see some of the attacks we had in the second half, so altogether it was a really nice day for the team, for the club, and because of that, also for me of course."

Slot's post-match comments echoed what he said in an interview with Jamie Carragher last week, when he suggested it is down to the players to get the fans going rather than the other way around.

"I think that's one of the things you want as a manager, that the fans love to see your team play," Slot said . "And if the fans see that we play a style that they like to see, then they will be much more positive and if they are really positive then that will help the team.

"Normally at most clubs it starts off with the players putting in a lot of work and being really intense and then the fans get behind it. Some, some, sometimes, you see the opposite way when it starts with the fans and then the players come."
