Liverpool maintained its promising start to the season with a win over Brentford on Sunday.

Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah netted the goals, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory for the Reds. This result marks Arne Slot as the first Liverpool manager since Graeme Souness in 1991 to secure victories in his first two games... and Souness had both games at home.

However, there were several moments that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90-minute match at Anfield .

    Nunez gets involved

Anfield saw quick reunions for two ex-Liverpool players, Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho, who had transferred to Brentford during the window. While van den Berg stayed on the bench, Carvalho got some game time in the final quarter as a substitute, receiving warm applause from the home crowd.

But earlier, the Portuguese's warm-up on the touchline was humorously disrupted by former teammate Darwin Nunez, who paused his own preparations to jokingly push and nudge Carvalho. Classic Darwin.

    Carvalho given message

Despite being on the losing side at Anfield, Carvalho was all smiles post-match as he caught up with some of his old teammates. The Brentford player spent a significant amount of time chatting with Salah before boarding the visiting team bus.

Slot has been showered with support since taking the reins at his London club, including words of encouragement to Carvalho, urging him to take full advantage of the chance to shine.

    Holland says hello

With the addition of Slot and his team, the Dutch influence at Liverpool, already boasting the likes of Virgil van Dijk , Cody Gakpo , and Ryan Gravenberch, has only grown stronger. The Anfield faithful have long been familiar with a passionate Dutch following that regularly makes itself heard from the stands.

And they didn't miss the opportunity to welcome Slot, unfurling a banner displaying his face alongside the heartwarming message: "From Bergenheim to Anfield, we got your back Arne."
