Liverpool officially unveils classy new third kit with notable Nike twist

Liverpool has officially unveiled its new third kit for the coming season with Nike producing a very nice-looking white strip with red trim. It is a simple and very effective design.

Arne Slot's side has only worn the red home strip so far in the Premier League , beating Ipswich Town on the opening weekend at Portman Road and then Thomas Frank's Brentford at Anfield eight days later. Both of those matches finished 2-0 with Mohamed Salah scoring in each game and Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz also getting off the mark. The new WSL season doesn't begin until September 21.

Next Sunday, Liverpool will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United . That will see the Reds debut their white strip with a wait before the men's team dons their new away kit, which is a dark color — almost black — with a light turquoise trim.

The Liverpool third kit is available to pre-order now ahead of its release on September 3. One other feature of the design aside from the simplicity of the design is the sideways Nike tick.

Nike says that the kit "takes inspiration from female athletes, artists and cultural movements that have left their mark on the club and their city". The tagline for the new shirt is "Together We Rise".

It will be a while before Liverpool wears the dark away kit for the first time, with two games at Anfield — against Nottingham Forest and then Bournemouth — coming after the September international break. Slot's team then has two away trips in the Premier League, first against Wolves and then a visit to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.

Liverpool.com says: The main thing with any Liverpool kit is that the players perform well in it. If Slot's men lift the Premier League trophy or the Champions League while wearing any of the three shirts that they will play in this season, that one will instantly go down as a classic.
