Alex Gerrard, wife of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, has been living a life of luxury since her husband took up a managerial role in the Middle East.

Former Reds captain Gerrard was appointed as the manager of Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq in July 2023 after being let go by Aston Villa. He made some significant signings last summer, including ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson , and extended his contract until 2027 at the start of this year.

The legendary Liverpool midfielder signed a lucrative deal with the Saudi Pro League Club, reportedly earning around $20 million per annum. Despite being one of the highest-paid coaches globally, he declined the offer of a house in Damman, Saudi Arabia, for his family.

Instead, Alex Gerrard and their four children are based in Bahrain. The Gulf nation is conveniently located near Damman, where Al-Ettifaq is based, allowing the Gerrard family to lead a glamorous lifestyle.

The Gerrards are said to reside in a luxurious villa in the village of Hamala. Their home, costing around $13,230 per month, boasts a swimming pool and games room, with members of the Bahraini royalty as neighbors.

Model and fashion columnist, Curran and Gerrard have been an item since 2002, tying the knot five years later. Since relocating to the Middle East, it's been noted that the 41-year-old enjoys frequenting the Bahrain World Trade Center in Manama, home to luxury fashion brands, and the waterfront shopping center, The Avenues.

Despite Al Ettifaq manager Gerrard dividing his time between two countries, the family still finds ways to enjoy their time together. The Gerrards hold memberships at the exclusive Four Seasons, which features the Cut restaurant helmed by Michelin star chef Wolfgang Puck, and the Ritz Carlton, where Premier League games are shown in an open-air bar. The family has also been seen spending quality time at the Bahrain Rugby Club.

The couple share four children: Lilly-Ella, 20; Lexie, 18; Lourdes, 12 and Lio, 7. Their youngest attends a prestigious English language school in Bahrain, with fees nearing $14,500 per child. Gerrard's coaching responsibilities involve an hour-long commute from Hamala to Damman, including traversing a 15-mile causeway between the two countries.

Despite not residing in Saudi Arabia, it seems the Gerrards have managed to strike a work-life balance, with Steven committed to Al Ettifaq until 2027. Upon penning a fresh contract in January, Steven Gerrard opened up about the impact on his family and their new lifestyle adjustment

"The renewal decision brought a lot of positive feelings for me and my family, as it was the culmination of the hard work and true dedication that everyone showed from day one," he explained.

"From the beginning, we realized the size of the responsibility and the number of challenges that awaited us, which prompted us to invest in creating new infrastructure, such as new training facilities and building a new stadium. We have achieved remarkable progress in these projects, as a result of the mutual trust between me and the club management."
