Harry Redknapp is predicting a narrow 2-1 victory for Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday after being impressed by Arne Slot's start to life at Anfield .

Liverpool has won its first two Premier League matches of the season, against Ipswich Town and Brentford, and is yet to concede a goal, winning both matches 2-0.

United, meanwhile, scraped a late victory against Fulham on the opening day of the campaign before losing at Brighton last weekend.

Former Premier League boss Redknapp slammed United's defending for the goals they conceded at the Amex Stadium, and suggested the added control with which Slot's Liverpool plays could give the visitors the edge on Sunday.

Redknapp told BetVictor : "What a game to close the weekend, they don’t come much bigger than this one! I don’t know what to make of Manchester United. Some of the football was very good against Brighton and on another day, they win that match. The defending for the two goals was shocking though.

"I like what I’ve seen from Liverpool. I like what I’m hearing from Arne Slot, and you can see the evolution in how they’ve been playing. Some of the football against Brentford was fantastic, some lovely one-touch football. I’m excited for this.

"Last year, there was a couple of thrillers at Old Trafford. I don’t think Liverpool will set up in the same way – they seem to play with a little bit more control under Slot. I think they’ll have too much for a United defence that I’m still not sure about."

Redknapp also predicted Mohamed Salah to score for a third game in succession. Salah has scored more goals against United than he has against any other club, netting 14 times in 15 appearances against the Red Devils. Redknapp added: "Mohamed Salah has such a brilliant record against United and he’s started the season superbly, I fancy him to get one here."
