Mohamed Salah reveals secret to shredded physique ahead of Liverpool clash with Man Utd

Mohamed Salah is adamant his incredible physique is mostly down to his diet rather than gym work.

The Egyptian has frequently celebrated by taking off his shirt after scoring in important matches for Liverpool over the years, exposing his shredded abs.

Now, Salah has revealed just how he maintains his ripped frame. Salah told Men in Blazers: "The abs are made in the kitchen first, not in the gym, so you have to eat well. When you eat well, you burn fat. That's where you start to see the shredding in your body, and from what I read a lot about. It's just, more food than gym.

"I can tell you foods that you need to cut out from your food. You need to cut bread, at least have a gluten-free bread, less dairy, don't eat cheese that much, and stay in the green stuff. And the sugar, and [cut out] the sugar as well."

Salah will be hoping he has another opportunity to show off his physique when Liverpool takes on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Salah has an excellent scoring record against United, netting 14 goals in 15 appearances against the Red Devils - more than he has managed against any other team he has faced in his career.

The Reds have started the new Premier League season in impressive fashion, winning their opening two games against Ipswich Town and Brentford under new manager Arne Slot.

Despite the positivity which surrounds Anfield at the moment, concerns remain over Salah's future at the club. The Egyptian is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave if an agreement over an extension isn't reached.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Old Trafford, Salah said his focus is currently elsewhere. He told Sky Sports: "I don't think much [about the future] to be fair. The more I think with time there is more wisdom, I would say. Wise. I just came for a season and I said: 'OK, I have one year left, so let's just enjoy. Don't think about the contract, don't think about anything and really just enjoy it'.

"I don't want to think about next year, I don't want to think about the future, I just [say]: 'OK, let's enjoy the last year and we will see.' Every week [being at my best] is the most important thing. Just take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here and that is it."
