Moments missed from Liverpool's Man Utd win as Virgil van Dijk laughs at Andre Onana

Liverpool's impressive start to the season continued with a resounding victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Luis Diaz bagged a brace and Mohamed Salah also found the back of the net, securing a memorable 3-0 win at Old Trafford. This result marks a historic moment for Arne Slot, who becomes the first Liverpool manager in 129 years to win his opening three league games, and the only one to achieve this feat in the top flight.

However, there were several moments during the 90 minutes at Old Trafford that might have slipped under the radar - including Virgil van Dijk's laughter. Liverpool was not in the mood for any antics from United, as demonstrated by captain Van Dijk's performance.

After receiving a jab in the ribs from United goalkeeper Andre Onana while setting up for a corner, Van Dijk briefly feigned pain before quickly standing up and laughing. Later, Van Dijk offered minimal consolation to United's main instigator Bruno Fernandes, who appeared to be in considerable pain clutching his ankle after a challenge.

Elsewhere... If Trent Alexander-Arnold's displeasure at being substituted against Brentford the previous weekend caused a stir among Liverpool fans, his response to being replaced again at Old Trafford was much more appreciated. The right-back, in a similar fashion to Andy Robertson shortly after, directed an emphatic fist-pump towards the ecstatic away fans as he exited the pitch.

Following the final whistle, the vice captain made his way over to the away fans and used his fingers to remind them of the final scoreline. Not that they're likely to forget anytime soon, naturally.

Finally... Old Trafford was far from running through a gauntlet of hate. However, Liverpool's players did have to face a small group of United supporters as they made the brief trip from the tunnel to the team bus outside the stadium.

Alexander-Arnold once again displayed the score on his hand before receiving a friendly pat from Salah, while Diaz offered a friendly salute and Darwin Nunez strolled past wearing, well, who knows what. Reds boss Slot gave his signature thumbs up followed by a knowing smile, hinting at his thoughts on the smattering of boos that greeted him.
