Liverpool's Sunday 3-0 triumph against Manchester United was marked by a standout performance from Ryan Gravenberch .

The 22-year-old's impressive showcase in the midfield, alongside Alexis Mac Allister, arguably marked the high point of his time with the Reds. Gravenberch has made a splash recently, impressing in Premier League matches against Ipswich and Brentford.

This came following an unsuccessful attempt by Liverpool to acquire Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in August, who instead chose to stay with his home team. Yet on Sunday, Zubimendi's name was largely forgotten by the Reds' fans as they watched Gravenberch take charge of the mid-pitch battle, shutting down Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo.

Liverpool's ongoing issues in the midfield have seemingly found its solution under the guidance of Head Coach Arne Slove - and that solution is Gravenberch. But it wasn't only the supporters singing his praises. Well-wishes poured into the Dutchman's Instagram post after the match, including comments from Virgil van Dijk , Trent Alexander-Arnold , and Mac Allister.

Asked about his faith in Gravenberch's ability to dominate in this position going forward, Slot commented: "His quality on the ball could be my first answer. But coming from the Netherlands we all know how good he is with the ball.

"He can be a really important player for our build-up game .But what impressed me most when I started working with him was how much he can run and still how good he is when he arrives in the duel. Today you saw with him, Dom and Macca how much they can keep on running.

"Sometimes you are late and they just kept on running and arriving in the duels. That’s the one thing that impressed me most about him, how good he is also without the ball.

"Only three games have been played, only games from Sunday to Sunday, there’s still a lot for us to prove. I don’t want to be the one that spoils everything, but two years ago was the last time we played in the Champions League and we all know how that season ended."
