Liverpool injury roundup and latest after international break ahead of Nottingham Forest fixture

    By Charlie Wilson,

The Reds will return to action this week with Arne Slot looking to go four wins from four games in the Premier League on the back of his win at Old Trafford last time out.

Much of Liverpool 's players have been away on international break throughout the past 10 days with the team returning to the AXA training facility ahead of Nottingham Forest coming to town on Saturday.

The Reds will be heavily favored to beat Forest in the game, with many expecting the midlands team to be among the strugglers in the Premier League this season. However, they themselves remain unbeaten with one win and two draws and will come into the game with the belief that they're capable of getting a result against Slot's side.

Below, Liverpool.com has compiled all the latest on Liverpool's injury report with one key player already ruled out for the game including three others to have late fitness tests.

    Alexis Mac Allister

Liverpool's central midfield maestro suffered an injury scare while on international duty with Argentina, but he looks to be ready to go after coming off the bench for the national team just days later.

Mac Allister played 79 minutes for Argentina and scored in their game against Chile, but was brought off with a muscle injury with Reds fans concerned. However, it appears to have been just a precaution with him being back on the field just days later.

He will be expected to be fit enough to be in the squad, but it remains to be seen whether Slot will risk starting him as he has in his first three games.

    Harvey Elliott

Liverpool are expecting to be without Elliott for the next six weeks or potentially even longer after he sustained an injury while away with England's under-21s.

Elliott has not been given much of an opportunity to so far under Slot, but he would have likely been in the lineup should Mac Allister miss the game, with the 22-year-old to now spend the next month-and-a-half recovering from his fractured foot.

    Curtis Jones

But while Liverpool has lost Elliott for the next month or more, they will get Jones back into the playing squad after he returned to full fitness in the past week.

Jones has not been with the playing team to start the season after he picked up a muscle injury but has now made a recovery and is expected to be in the team against Nottingham Forest.

    Federico Chiesa

Liverpool's newest signing, Chiesa, is expected to be in the squad for the game after spending time with Liverpool's youth team throughout the international break after not being called up for the Italian team.

Chiesa had yet to feature in Juventus' squad before joining the Reds before the transfer deadline window closed, and was not part of their squad against Manchester United for that reason. But after spending 10 days with their youth teams, the talented attacker is now ready to be apart of Slot's team.

Liverpool.com's predicted line-up vs Forest: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Jota, Diaz
