Mohamed Salah agent posts scathing message over Liverpool star's future and contract rumors

Mohamed Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa took to X on Thursday to quash any of the recent rumblings about the Egyptian star's recent contract rumors.

With the club off the last two weeks thanks to the international break, a swell of Salah contract theories have been posited. One report indicated Salah was close to signing a two-year deal worth over $300,000-a-week.

Abass Issa is both Salah's lawyer, advisor, and close confidant who has been to the go-to source for any news related to the Liverpool star over the last few years. He had a scathing tweet in response to all of the reports.

"FYI – all those ‘journalists’ who imply having ‘inside information’ about Mohamed’s future are just making claims/posts based on absolutely nothing," he tweeted. "Just click-------. 'Sources close to Mohamed' don’t exist. This post is really just to tell you that they don’t know."

Salah's current contract was signed back in 2022, paying him over £350,000 (over $450,000) a week, and is set to expire at the end of the 2024-24 campaign. He is currently the highest paid player in the Liverpool roster.

Salah was asked about his contract situation by SkySports hosts Roy Keane and Daniel Sturridge following Liverpool's dominant 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 1.

“As you know it’s my last year in the club," Salah said. "I just wanna enjoy it, I don’t wanna think about it."

He was then asked about the prospect of whether it could be the last time he plays at Old Trafford. “Yeah to be fair I was coming to the game and I said it could be my last time. No one in the club has talked to me yet about a contract, so I say it’s my last season and then we’ll see," Salah continued.

"We hope it's not," Sturridge said.

"It’s not up to me… but no one has talked to me at the club," Salah answered. The Egyptian forward was subject to a move to the Saudi league ahead of the 2023 season but ultimately remained on Merseyside.

Salah recorded 18 goals and 10 assists across 28 starts in the Premier League last season and is off to an even stronger start in 2023-24. The Liverpool star has already notched six goal involvements in three games as the club sit joint-top of the table alongside Manchester City.
