'I agree with Paul Scholes, Liverpool will be in the title race and has advantage over Arsenal'

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Liverpool will challenge for the Premier League title this term .

The Reds currently sit second in the table heading into October having won four of their opening five games. They have only conceded once in the Premier League, which came in their 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield a fortnight ago.

During those five games, the Reds have scored 10 goals. Luis Diaz has five of them, with Mohamed Salah the Reds second top scorer this season with three. Both Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have one goal a-piece to their name in the Premier League.

Last season, the Premier League was a three horse race for the majority of the season, with Liverpool battling it out with Arsenal and Manchester City until they fell away down the stretch. In the end, Arsenal took City to the final day of the season, but it was Pep Guardiola's side that claimed the title, their fourth consecutive Premier League crown.

However, this term, City are dealing with multiple headaches. While Erling Haaland has scored an astonishing 10 goals in five games, Kevin De Bruyne has already suffered an injury set-back and looks set to miss City's weekend clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park.

To make things even worse, Rodri, the best holding midfielder in the world, will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his ACL against Arsenal last weekend in their 2-2 draw with the Gunners. Early signs this season suggest once again this season, Liverpool, Arsenal and City will battle it out for the Premier League again this term.

And speaking to cryptocasinosuk.net , Saha, who is in agreement with former United teammate Paul Scholes , explained how he believes the Reds firepower upfront will help them challenge for the Premier League this term. "From the way that the season has started, I think the title race will be between Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool," Saha said .

"I don't think it will be that different from last year. I like what Arsenal’s and Arteta has done over the last few years. They have added quality to the squad, but, more importantly, their main players have become more experienced in fighting for the Premier League title.

"Arteta looked at his defence, which was the best in the Premier League last season, and he added to it. They’ve changed their style and have become a team that is a lot harder to beat. They are a very difficult team to play against - quite streetwise. Ruthless.

"The only thing I would say about them is, they still don’t have a killer striker who will score a guaranteed twenty goals a season at a minimum. Arsenal are missing that player who can score a goal when things are really, really tight.

Saha then added: "Liverpool have got brilliant firepower. Like Arsenal, you look at them and think in the number nine position, who is going to score twenty goals for you? That isn’t much of an issue when you have Salah and, Luis Diaz has started the season on fire. I’m a massive fan of Diaz.

"Darwin Nunez is a player that has a lot of interesting qualities. If he could put everything together, he would be a very dangerous player in the Premier League.

"Both Arsenal and Liverpool can challenge Manchester City, but you have to say that City are the favourites. City have the best squad, the best striker and they have a wonderful collection of defenders. They have an arrogance about them because they’ve done it all before and they also have stability. When you put all of those things together, it’s worth an extra five points over the course of a season. You never hear anything about players being unhappy or discontent behind-the-scenes."

Liverpool.com says: "There's no reason Liverpool can't compete for the Premier League this season, especially if their forwards continue to score plenty of goals. City will be without arguably their best player Rodri this season, while Arsenal still look to be lacking a consistent goalscorer despite their unbeaten start."
