Liverpool injury latest and return dates including Alexis Mac Allister update and Alisson latest

Liverpool has made a very promising start to life under new head coach Arne Slot but there are some big matches just around the corner. Once the international break is over, the Reds will come up against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker will have a scan on his hamstring injury to determine its extent but it certainly didn't look good for the Brazilian. He limped through the mixed zone at Crystal Palace and looked in a fair bit of discomfort.

"With Alisson it is clear he will be out for maybe a few weeks," Arne Slot told BBC Match of the Day . "Maybe this is something the FA should look at — if you play Wednesday evening why do we have an early kick-off in an away game? Or they have to look at me and rotate all my players, maybe it is also bad luck, I don't know."

Caoimhin Kelleher was only absent because of illness against Crystal Palace, meaning Vitezslav Jaros made his Premier League debut. The Irishman, though, could now get a run of a few big matches both domestically and in Europe. Liverpool has Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen before the next international break in the Champions League .

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has also been missing lately with a foot injury. The England U21 midfielder is set to be out for another few weeks yet as he continues to recover from that problem.

Coming off at half-time at Selhurst Park, Alexis Mac Allister was another who picked up a scare ahead of the internationals . He suggested on social media that it wasn't something to be majorly worried about but it remains to be seen whether or not he will join up with Argentina. "I felt a slight discomfort during the game, but nothing that will stop me," he posted on Instagram.

"He went off because of an injury, but how bad it is is difficult for me to judge in this moment," Slot said at full-time. "He could have continued playing, like you saw, because it didn't happen one second before half-time.

"But he felt it a bit too much and he said he didn't think it was good to keep on playing because you never know if you will make it worse. Now, what is the exact situation, can he go to Argentina? Can he play over there? That is difficult for me to tell you now."

The only other player missing at the moment is Federico Chiesa . The Italian winger has missed a couple of matches through a minor injury but the suggestion prior to the Crystal Palace game was that he could have potentially been back for that one, so he shouldn't be out once the internationals are over.
