Mohamed Salah has kept up his fine Liverpool form by bagging for Egypt on international duty.

The Reds winger has already grabbed six goals and five assists in 10 games in all competitions for Arne Slot's side this season but has now increased his tally further after notching for The Pharaohs on Friday.

In Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania, the 32-year-old popped up at the back post with 79 minutes on the clock to secure all three points for his side in a 2-0 victory.

The result ensures Egypt remains at the top of its qualifying group following three wins from three, having already seen off Cape Verde (3-0) and Botswana (4-0) last month - the latter of which the Liverpool star also bagged in.

That means Salah has now scored eight goals in 13 games for club and country already this season, not to mention the five assists he's also picked up for the Reds in the Premier League and Champions League .

One man who will be particularly happy to see the former Roma ace continue to add to his goals tally this season is Slot, who is preparing to lead his side into a daunting fixture schedule on its return to domestic action next weekend.

With Salah fit and firing on international duty, it means he will be raring to go once he returns to Merseyside next week, where Liverpool prepares to take on Chelsea in a top of the table clash in the Premier League on Sunday, October 20.

What's even more pleasing for Slot and Reds fans is the chances Salah was also creating for his teammates. During Egypt's clash with Mauritania, the winger registered four chances throughout the game - the most of any player on the field.

Furthermore, Salah was all smiles on the substitutes bench despite being taken off late on, suggesting he is in perfect condition and hasn't picked up any niggles or worrying injury concerns ahead of Egypt's next match on Tuesday - and Liverpool's return to action next week.
