Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund reportedly missed a training session with Denmark on Sunday due to his recent hamstring injury. The 21-year-old was sidelined at the start of the new Premier League season due to the same issue, which he sustained during pre-season .

He was out for United's first six matches of the season before making a comeback against Crystal Palace last month. Since then, Hojlund has made two more league appearances before most of Erik ten Hag's men departed for international duty.

However, his absence from training has sparked concern online. Danish media outlet Bold reports that Hojlund sat out Sunday's training following Denmark's loss to Spain the night before when he came on as a second-half substitute.

It is yet to be confirmed whether this was due to a serious issue or merely a precautionary measure. Regardless, his absence will undoubtedly cause worry at Old Trafford.

United have noticeably missed the former Atalanta player this season in the Premier League, where they have struggled to score goals. Hojlund recently confessed that he probably isn't ready to play a full 90 minutes as he continues to carefully manage his workload following his injury, which happened during a preseason match against Arsenal in July.

"There is no point in rushing things and risking another injury," he said. "My body feels good again. I might be ready to play 90 minutes, but if I also use my brain a little bit, I don't think 90 minutes on Saturday against Spain is a good idea."

He then opened up about his physical condition, noting that he's shed some pounds during his recovery. "I've lost a little weight, but it doesn't matter," he said. "I know there are some benefits to being a little lighter and some benefits to being a little heavier. I'm not focused on the scales. I've gotten used to the fact that my weight fluctuates a little bit."

With Manchester United set to face Brentford at Old Trafford on Sunday, fans will be hoping Hojlund's recent absence is nothing more than a strategic move to ensure he's fighting fit for the upcoming Premier League clash.
