Trent Alexander-Arnold has quipped he might need to start taking a sledgehammer to his walls after bagging yet another Player of the Match plaudit under interim England boss Lee Carsley.

The 26-year-old full-back, who has been in top form for both club and country, was recognized in each of Carsley's victories following Gareth Southgate's post-Euros exit. England boasts an impressive track record with three wins and just one loss in their Nations League outings as excitement builds around incoming manager Thomas Tuchel, who was officially introduced on Wednesday.

Alexander-Arnold shone during that stint, scoring his fourth goal for England with a stunning free-kick in their recent 3-1 triumph over Finland – while filling in at left-back instead of his regular right-sided slot.

Despite facing sporadic criticism for some of his defensive work , most notably through Roy Keane earlier in October, Alexander-Arnold remains in good humor – with the strong display seemingly adding to his confidence. "Another one (player of the match), yeah. I had to switch up the trophy room last camp and now I'm going to have to open it up again. I'll have to knock a wall down," he joked while chatting with England's media team.

"I just thought hit it as well as I can, three-man wall, I knew what I was going to do from the moment Jude won it. Got the shrug, the A for my niece, the shrug is just, you know, that's what I do. Good day at the office."

Post international break, Alexander-Arnold returns to Liverpool in a good mood as new manager Arne Slot seeks to build on a terrific start at Anfield . The Reds' last-gasp victory over Crystal Palace just before the international hiatus ensured they sat at the top of the Premier League.

The defender, who emerged through the ranks at Kirkby Academy, finds himself among a trio of Liverpool stalwarts with his future up in the air, though. As Alexander-Arnold approaches the final six months of his current deal in January, he'll be eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs for a pre-contract arrangement as his contract runs down.
