Trent Alexander-Arnold's preference is to stay at Liverpool , according to reports that will please Reds fans around the world.

It is being reported by DaveOCKOP that talks between the Reds and Alexander-Arnold over a new deal are "progressing well" and that both sides are confident a deal will be done. Alexander-Arnold's current Reds contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and from January onwards he will be able to negotiate with foreign clubs over a free transfer next summer.

Real Madrid is the club that is most heavily linked with a move for Alexander-Arnold, and the Spanish club's need for a new right-back intensified earlier this month when Dani Carvajal sustained a serious knee injury .

The Athletic reported earlier this week that Madrid has made Alexander-Arnold a priority signing, with the England star at the top of Madrid's list of right-back targets ahead of the likes of Pedro Porro and Jeremie Frimpong.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush is said to favor a move to Liverpool for two reasons. Liverpool has been linked with a move for the Egyptian star following the forward's impressive start to the season for Frankfurt.

Marmoush is well clear as the top scorer in the Bundesliga with eight goals so far this season, and he has scored a total of nine times and registered six assists in all competitions.

It is that outstanding form that has led to links with top clubs, and German journalist Florian Plettenberg said earlier this month that Liverpool is 'closely monitoring' the 25-year-old's situation at Frankfurt.

Now, Sport Bild says that Marmoush is motivated by the possibility of playing alongside compatriot Mohamed Salah at Anfield, while the second reason behind his desire to move to Liverpool is that he wants to play for a top Premier League club. Marmoush is said to have turned down approaches from Nottingham Forest and Fulham in the summer as he has set his sights higher.

Marmoush's current contract at Frankfurt runs until 2027, and the Bundesliga club is said to be keen to tie the 25-year-old down to a new deal.
