Pep Guardiola drops curious mention of Liverpool in telling reaction to Man City win

Pep Guardiola dropped a curious mention of Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp following Manchester City's latest win at Wolves, which keeps it chasing the top spot in the Premier League. It was John Stones, the center-back, who nodded in a last-gasp winner after 95 minutes to ensure victory against a resolute side managed by Gary O'Neil.

After the thrilling finish, Guardiola remarked, "We are not used to winning games at the end, like Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool it many times happened. It is a good flavor for us."

In a post-match statement , the Premier League clarified why Stones' goal stood, saying: "Stones' goal was disallowed on-field due to Bernardo Silva being in an offside position and in the goalkeeper's line of vision.

"The VAR deemed Bernardo Silva wasn't in the line of vision and had no impact on the goalkeeper and recommended an on-field review. The referee overturned his original decision and a goal was awarded."

Liverpool.com says: Even when Klopp is long gone, he is still there in Guardiola's head. Liverpool won as well today, which puts it back on top of the Premier League table, but it says plenty that Manchester City was thinking about the Reds even after its own win.
