Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane has sparked a backlash on social media after he criticised Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Liverpool as "disappointing" and claiming it "lacked quality".

The Gunners battled it out in an exciting match against their Premier League title rivals at the Emirates, which saw Bukayo Saka put the hosts ahead early on. Virgil van Dijk equalized for Arne Slot's side before Mikel Merino pushed Arsenal back into the lead just before half-time.

However, the Gunners were dealt a blow when Gabriel was forced off due to injury shortly after the break, and Mohamed Salah scored in the 81st minute to secure a point for Liverpool . Despite the game offering plenty of discussion points, Keane was seemingly unimpressed.

Speaking after the match, he expressed his disappointment with both teams - a sentiment that was quickly challenged on social media. One user posted: "Roy Keane is pathetic" - while another described the Irishman's blunt approach as "boring", saying: "Roy Keane doing his best to be like Roy Keane. Boring now."

Another user noted that the former Manchester United captain seemed to have changed his opinion during the second half, commenting: "Roy Keane talking about a lack of quality and intensity when in the first half they were saying how high quality the game was."

Keane wasn't alone in his post-match disappointment; Saka, too, felt Arsenal failed to capitalize in the second half, not so much concerned with the match's quality but more with the Gunners' inability to finish Liverpool off.

Saka told Sky Sports: "Disappointed, credit to Liverpool. We feel like we didn't play the full 90 minutes. First half we showed our qualities, gave them nothing and they scored from a set piece. I can't think of another chance they had. Second half we weren't at our best. They had more momentum, won more duels, kept more possession and naturally momentum goes to them and we have to defend."
