Liverpool transfer news as 'talks held' with Omar Marmoush amid right-back 'enquiry'

Liverpool could be edging closer to securing a deal for a replacement for Mohamed Salah .

The Reds are yet to secure the long-term future of the Egyptian and with his contract continuing to wind down , it's claimed measures are already being taken to ensure there is a suitable heir to his throne at Anfield next summer.

A number of names have cropped up in recent weeks as the 32-year-old appears no closer to signing fresh terms on Merseyside, yet one in particular is making the most headlines in reports across Europe - which is also helped by his dazzling form.

And the culprit in question would be Salah's countryman Omar Marmoush , who has taken the new season by storm with 10 goals and seven assists in just 11 games across all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt, with another strike coming on international duty for Egypt.

But according to Sky Sports Deutschland, Liverpool has wasted no time in looking into a deal for the Egyptian by holding initial talks with the player, who is believed to be equally keen on a move to the Premier League .

Frankfurt is keen to extend Marmoush's stay at the club but the forward is said to be stalling on signing a new deal. Sky Sports Deutschland adds that Liverpool would need to pay up to $65 million (£50m/€60m) if it wishes to sign him in January, although it remains unlikely.

Elsewhere, Liverpool is also reportedly continuing to plan ahead for Trent Alexander-Arnold's potential departure by scouting out Red Bull Salzburg right-back Amar Dedic, who has four assists in 17 appearances so far this season.

According to Caught Offside , the Reds have even asked for information on the 22-year-old's situation, who himself is eager to test himself at a higher level and is open to a challenge in the Premier League in the near future.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international also wouldn't cost a fortune, making him a very preferable target for Liverpool. Currently being coached by former Reds assistant Pep Lijnders , it could help to pave the way for a transfer to Anfield.
