Nettie F. Koerner, age 103, formerly of Waldo Twp., Livingston County, passed away at 11:12 p.m. on June 19, 2024, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke. Nettie was born on December 19, 1920, at Waldo Twp. a daughter of Samuel and Bertha Zehr Eigsti. She married Loray D. Koerner on June 19, 1944, at Flanagan Mennonite Church. He died August 14, 2007.

An embezzlement case has been uncovered in Livingston County. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says on May 13th, they took a report of a theft/embezzlement at the Salem Children's Home, also known as Salem4Youth in rural Flanagan. Investigators say Stacey Benge stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the ranch as a former employee. Her husband Terry was named the youth home's executive director in 2013.
