Who are the top cross country runners in Livingston County heading into Portage week?

After four local high school cross country teams had opportunities to run personal bests in two meets at Jackson’s Ella Sharp Park, Fowlerville and Charyl Stockwell had their chance to run a lightning-fast course Saturday in Stockbridge.

As a result, Fowlerville’s Nathan Szilagyi vaulted from 24th to 14th on the list of Livingston County’s top times, while teammate Lucas Moore cracked the top 25.

On the girls side, Ella Heffner of Charyl Stockwell moved into the top 25 and Fowlerville’s Maria Beach went up two places.

Over in St. Johns, Taylor Wiegand lowered her school record at Livingston Christian with a time of 19 minutes 35.9 seconds at Uncle John’s Cider Mill.

While there weren't many changes to the honor roll this week, there should be a significant overhaul with some of the top teams going to the Portage Invitational Saturday.
