Another week, another collection of excellent local students.

Each week, we'll share our list of Students of the Week, nominated by local high school principals and staff. The honorees will be shared online Fridays and in print Sundays.

From impressive classroom performance to excellent leadership, here are The Daily’s Students of the Week for Oct. 18:

    Meet the Class of 10/18

    Jackson Hojnicki, Brighton High School

Jackson stands out as an exemplary student, both academically and in his extracurricular involvement. With a 4.1667 GPA, Jackson has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence as he prepares for a future in medicine.      Jackson excels in time management, balancing the demands of school, varsity sports, jobs and leadership roles in organizations like Student Council, the National Honor Society, and the BHS Ruff N Rowdy Student Section. His ability to maintain academic excellence while participating in varsity lacrosse speaks to his dedication and work ethic.      Outside the classroom, Jackson has proven himself in various jobs, specifically as a ski instructor, where he helped children from underprivileged backgrounds learn how to ski. This has been particularly meaningful to him, as it combined his love for teaching with community outreach.

Jackson’s determination, leadership and compassion for others make him an outstanding choice for Student of the Week.

    Delaney Richardson, Fowlerville High School

Delaney, a junior at Fowlerville High School, was recently elected president of the FFA, a remarkable achievement for a student in her grade. In addition to her leadership role, Delaney is an accomplished athlete, competing in both cross country and track. As an AP student, she excels academically while embodying qualities of kindness, self-motivation, determination and goal orientation. Delaney consistently works hard to achieve the goals she sets, both in the classroom and in her extracurricular pursuits. She's an excellent role model for her peers and a shining example of what it means to be a True Gladiator.

    Jack Lansing, Hartland High School

Jack is a student from the peer-to-peer class. Jack is patient, kind and resourceful for his peer-to-peer student. Hartland High School Assistant Principal Jessica Guss is impressed with how well Jack interacts and assists his peer, as he's patient, keeps the student on task and just talks with the student. Jack is a great asset to Hartland High School and the community.

    Jeffrey Stimson, Howell High School

Jeffrey Stimson excels academically, maintaining a high GPA while enrolled in several Advanced Placement courses. Despite a demanding course load, he remains deeply involved in the performing arts, participating in choir, band and drama. As vice president of the Interact Club, Jeffrey also demonstrates leadership and a commitment to helping others.

James Rinaldi, Pinckney Community High School

James loves to learn and be involved. He's positive in all his interactions. From the auto shop to the math classroom, his teachers say he exhibits the character traits of enthusiasm and self-control and is one of the nicest, most well-mannered students in class. James is also the Lieutenant Drum Major for the PCHS Marching Band and an active member of the Act2 Theatre Company.
