    Who are the fastest runners in Livingston County heading into cross country regionals?

    Brighton not only has top-end talent at the front of its boys and girls cross country packs, but runners deeper in their lineups who would be in the varsity seven for any other Livingston County team.

    Brighton’s boys, who are ranked second in Division 1, have seven of the top 10 and 12 of the top 23 times in Livingston County.

    The Bulldogs’ fifth-ranked girls have 13 of the 25 fastest runners.

    Both teams will run regionals Saturday at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg, along with Hartland and Howell. Pinckney will be in a Division 2 regional at Springfield Oaks.

    The meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the boys Division 2 race, followed by Division 1 boys at 9, Division 2 girls at 9:30 and Division 1 girls at 10.

    Fowlerville will run in a Division 2 regional at 2 p.m. Friday at DeWitt High School, Charyl Stockwell is in a Division 3 regional at 10 a.m. Saturday at Columbus County Park in Algonac and Livingston Christian is in a Division 4 regional at 3 p.m. Friday at Webberville.
