Holiday Reminder: Livingston Garbage/Recycling Schedule Altered, Offices to Close on July 4

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston residents whose garbage and recycling is typically collected on Thursday and/or Friday are reminded that the schedule will be altered from Thursday, July 4 through the end of the weekend due to the Independence Day holiday. Additionally, there will be no metal collection on Friday, July 5.
Livingston Town Hall and all township offices will also be closed on Thursday. The offices will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 and will reopen during summer business hours (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on Friday, July 5.
There will be no garbage collection on Thursday, July 4. Residents with a Monday/Thursday pickup will have their garbage collected instead on their next regularly scheduled day, which is Monday, July 8.
Recycling Collection
Recycling will not be collected on Thursday, July 4. Paper recycling collection will move forward one day for the remainder of the week.
Therefore, Thursday’s recycling (Zone 4) will be picked up instead on Friday, July 5, and Friday’s recycling collection (Zone 5) moves to Saturday, July 6.
Metal Recycling Collection
Metal recycling will resume on Friday, July 12 and will only be picked up upon request. Residents must register by 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 to have their metal recycling collected.
The metal pickup request form will be available on Monday, July 8 at livingstonnj.org/MetalRequest . (This form will not be available before July 8.)
Livingston’s 4 th of July Celebration
On Thursday, July 4, Livingston will host its 87 th annual July 4th Celebration with activities to be held at the Livingston Memorial Oval, Robert Harp Drive, Mervyn VT Haines Pool and Northland Park throughout the day.
From 9 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m., families are invited to enjoy the largest auto show in New Jersey, games, competitions, rides, food, live music and more, culminating in the fireworks display. CLICK HERE to learn more about the activities scheduled for this year’s celebration.
