There’s good news about a case of dozens of animals rescued in an animal neglect incident in Muscatine earlier this summer.

It Takes A Village, the group that has been working to rehabilitate the 67 animals that were rescued, posted the exciting development on their Facebook page.

“This afternoon we received notice that the ownership of the 60+ legal case dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and rats has officially been vacated and they are now truly ours,” the post said. “We are so grateful that the life they previously knew is officially and FOREVER BEHIND THEM!! The actual case is still ongoing, but the animals are no longer in limbo!!! Now we can finally get them all spayed and neutered and ADOPTABLE!!!!”

The group will need the public’s help with spaying and neutering the animals. “OH MY GOSH we have SOOOOO many spays/neuters in our future!! We are officially launching a spay/neuter fund for the animals from this case!” Click here to donate to the fund.

“We are committed to getting these animals altered and into forever homes as quickly as possible,” the post continued. “They have already spent far too much time stuck in a shelter! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!! WE ARE SO HAPPY!!!!”
