Acronic Foundation grant supports Girl Scout STEM activities

A $30,000 gift from the Arconic Foundation is helping support outdoor STEM activities for Girl Scouts at summer camp.

“Summer camp is an essential experience for Girl Scouts! We appreciate Arconic’s consistent support of our outdoor programs,” said Diane Nelson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. “Their donation helped create science, technology, engineering, and math learning opportunities for girls at camp. The outdoors is a great setting to build STEM skills!”

Girl Scout summer camp is where girls with different backgrounds, abilities and experiences come together to have fun and learn new skills. Girl Scouts build their confidence, develop a love for the outdoors and discover independence with the support of trained and caring staff members.
