Labor Day weekend is almost here and that means festival time in Milan!

The expanded Milan Harvest Festival will be held on Thursday, August 29 through Monday, September 2. A carnival, daily music performances, a battle of the high school bands, performances from Quad City Symphony Orchestra, food vendors, bingo, euchre, bags tournament, trading cards and collectibles show, disc golf, parade, beer garden and fireworks promise fun for everyone.

“I’m honored to be a part of this community and see how everyone comes together especially when it comes to events that help youth organizations,” said Kevin Nolan, festival organizer. “We’ve been able to make further investments into the festival including a larger tent for live entertainment, new events like Brunch at the Ball Park with performances by the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, a bags tournament, and so many musical acts it could be considered a musical festival.”

    The carnival’s hours are Thursday, August 29th from 5 – 10 p.m., Friday, August 30 from 5 – 11 p.m., Saturday, August 31 from 12 – 11 p.m., Sunday, September 1 from 12 – 11 p.m. with fireworks at dusk, and Monday, September 2 from 12 – 4 p.m.

All net proceeds will be reinvested into local youth organizations that have missions of service and encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, good behavior, and achievement.
