Pleasant valley football playing one of the toughest schedules in the state of Iowa once again.

Five of their nine opponents playoff teams last year including three straight against Bettendorf, Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Iowa City Liberty to start the season..

A mix of returners and new faces as well. Three-year starter, Max Schemeltzer on the line and two quarterbacks, Lincoln Dalton and Harrison Fears..

“We always know it’s going to be tough but we’re always working here all summer we’ve been here we’re just working hard every day and we got a lot of guys who just all have the same mindset we’re all looking to win,” Schmeltzer said. “I came in here as a sophomore learning from those seniors. Learned how they played, what they did every day. Just helped me change into the player I am right now and help me become a better leader.”

Playing those games so we feel like we really battle tested and it’s going to be a battle week end and out,” head coach Rusty Van Wetzinga said. “Lincoln and Dalton they’re both doing a really really good job and are a little different than some of the other teams that you might see but we still have to be able to pitch and catch it and solely operate offense. Both those guys are doing a good job. Different type of players but I trust both of them.”
