Cancer Support Community Iowa and NW Illinois at Gilda’s Club is hosting a free educational workshop on end-of-life doulas on Monday, September 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Gilda’s Club Moline, 600 John Deere Road, Suite 101. A virtual option is available for those who can’t attend in person.

End-of-life doulas recognize the importance of death and the significance of this sacred journey. They are committed to offering solace and compassion, ensuring that people are supported in their end-of-life wishes.

Becky Nakashima Brooke, an end-of-life doula, shares a holistic approach to care that covers emotional, spiritual and physical well-being. She uses her unique skill set to care for the dying, as well as the ones grieving. Brooke believes acceptance and celebration of a life well lived is part of a “good death.”

The program is being offered in-person and via Zoom and registration is required. Call Cancer Support Community Iowa at (563) 326-7504, email gc@gildasclubqc.org or click here for more information or to register.
