A stopped train in downtown Davenport is blocking several streets as of 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.

An Iowa Interstate train experiencing a “train-related incident,” according to Davenport Police, is currently stopped on Fifth and Western.

Our Quad Cities News crew saw emergency vehicles at Gaines Street, which will be closed between Fourth and Sixth Streets until further notice. Other closed streets in that area include Warren, Vine, Marquette, and Taylor.

Multiple squad cars and officers are in the area of Western and Gaines at 5th Street.

Fillmore is open and heavy traffic is using it to pass underneath the train.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area, because the streets are closed until further notice. Our Quad Cities News has a crew on the site and there will be more information as it becomes available.

It's inconvenient, but at least it wasn't a trained derailment.
