Company is coming to Muscatine and the city is closing part of Riverside Park so they can visit.

A news release from the city says two cruise ships owned by American Cruise Lines are stopping at Riverside Park on Saturday, September 14 and Monday, September 16 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. The city needs to close the boat launch and parking lot downriver of the Iowa Avenue entrance to Riverside Park so the ships can dock and so buses from American Cruise Lines can pick up passengers to visit destinations in Muscatine.

The American Serenade will arrive at about 10 p.m. on Friday and passengers will disembark to explore Muscatine from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The cruise ship is scheduled to depart Muscatine at 1 p.m. Saturday. After the ship leaves the Port of Muscatine, the parking area will be opened for public use.

The American Symphony will arrive in Muscatine at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, with passengers disembarking to visit Muscatine from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The cruise ship is scheduled to depart Muscatine at 1 p.m. Saturday. After the ship leaves the Port of Muscatine, the parking area will be opened for public use.
