Tonight looks to be a high migration night for Iowa and the Upper Mississippi River. River Action will turn off the bridge lights on the arches of the Centennial bridge, September 19, through the duration of the fall migration.

Citizens are urged to turn off any unnecessary lighting, as well, to help our feathered friends find their way and reduce collisions.

An estimated 382 million birds will migrate through the upper Midwest tonight.

Didn't know migratory birds didn't need runway/ guidance lights.? What if they're scared of the dark? Sure would hate to have him crash into each other. What kind of idiots come up with this crap and the ones that believe it.
